Goa Attractions
You’ll find most of the party beaches here (and most of the foreigners) in the northern part of Goa. There is not much to see besides beaches, but you will find a few beautiful old forts of the local red-pitted stone called laterite, which overlook the gorgeous sea. You may also want to take an excursion to one of the popular markets in Mapusa. The Bardez district is where you’ll find the beaches, and it is the most populated area
This beautiful city is located 600 km south of Mumbai. This state capital has whitewashed churches, palm-lined plazas and clean streets, and none of the mayhem of other capitals. The relaxed attitude of the residents adds to Panjim’s charm and reminds you to take it easy here. One of the best ways to see the older parts of the city is on foot.
Madgaon (also know as Margao) is the main town in south Goa, and it is within striking distance of several beaches and wonderful sights. The town has a bustling market and is worth exploring for its old buildings and shopping areas. The beaches of the south are more relaxing than those of the north, and the people here are less preoccupied with partying. Some of the state’s best and most expensive resorts are in south Goa.
